Norway Spruce – superb value
Beloved by the Victorians, this is the tree that started the Christmas tree tradition. It comes pruned and has dense, slightly spiky green foliage (good for deterring pets) and a full and bushy appearance, with a strong pine scent. It’s one of the easiest varieties to grow, hence its lower price. Needle retention is poor compared to the other varieties, but regular watering will slow down needle drop considerably.
